I thought it had gone, but glad it is up and running again. It should be a useful place for finding out more about the Spanish plants, gardening and all sorts.

how to grow cypress trees from seed

I have been successful growing lemon trees from seed. It takes quite a few years, but is very satisfying. I took the pips and kept them in small pots in the sun. In the winter months I kept them inside to avoid the very cold nights. After a few years I transplanted into bigger pots and kept...

Hi Graham Welcome to sunny Spain. I hope you have as much fun and joy developing your garden as we did. Unfortunately we are south of Alicante, so helping you with garden centres probably is out. We did buy our main plants from garden centres, but you can often pick up quite a few...

    Palm Trees

    Happy New Year

Sorry I didn't have a chance to say Merry Christmas beforehand. Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed themselves. I personally find it a very busy time of year, enjoyable but expensive. However I am in time to wish everyone a Happy New Year - good health and happiness to all. A little extra...

    Winter Parlour

We are thinking of having a section of the terrace glassed in - to make an area to use when the weather is colder. Do you need planning permission for this sort of construction? It doesn't appear to involve any major work.

    Large, Noisy Flies

Hi there I didn't really know what to call them, but they make a real noise from mid July onwards. Does anyone know the type I am talking about? They are really loud and seem to call to each other. Never managed to get close enough to take a photo, but they appear blackish from a distance.
