Easy plants to grow

I have been advised that "succulents" are the best to plant for easy maintenance in hot sun and not needing so much water.
In pots geraniums, lanternas, cacti etc but of course pots will need
watering regularly. Best to invest in a water irrigation system to ensure they do not dry out. Hope this helps a bit
